Greenwich Council to build homes on Well Hall Road garage site

By | February 20, 2019

This evening Greenwich Council’s Cabinet will agree a programme of housebuilding which includes plans for new homes on the site of the garages beside the low rise flats on Well Hall Road.

The “New Council Housing Delivery Programme” initially looks to approve the building of new Council homes on five sites, one of which is in Eltham North ward.  Each site will be assessed againt several criteria including deliverability, value for money and distribution across the Borough.

For the Well Hall Road site, the plans are for 12 one bedroom flats and 2 three bedroom flats where there are currently a number of garages.  Apparently the initial plan will be for modular construction to be used to build these homes as it is quicker and incurs less overhead charges.

The report to Cabinet states that “all local residents for each site have been written to” which seems a bold claim, so please let Charlie or me(Spencer) know if you were not aware of these plans but you live close by.
