Eltham Matters started life as a blog run by the two Conservative Councillors for Eltham North ward – Charlie Davis and Spencer Drury. Over time Eltham Matters has become a blog focusing on the issues that matter to Eltham residents, which often means writing about decisions by the Woolwich-based Labour-run Greenwich Council, the Mayor of London or national government.
Despite there being no Conservative Councillors in Eltham Park & Progress ward now, the blog has continued with the aim of highlighting issues which impact Eltham and its residents.
While the blog mostly focuses on issues linked to Eltham Park & Progress and Eltham Page wards, Charlie’s re-election as a Councillor for Eltham Town and Avery Hill ward in 2024 means that there is a broader focus on the whole of Eltham, especially on our twitter and Facebook account.
We have also tried to save the newsletters from around Eltham published by various residents group so readers can see what is going on. As we are no longer Councillors this is a slightly out of date but we have tried to update it where we have access to newsletters: https://www.elthammatters.co.uk/newsletters-from-around-eltham/.
