Great day out in the ward speaking to residents. Plenty telling us they’ll be voting for @Spencer_Drury and myself on May 5th to ensure we can continue holding Labour to account. https://twitter.com/ElthamNigel/status/1517844168642646019

Evidence that having local Conservative councillors makes a genuine difference in the way our borough is governed. It’s vital we continue to have an opposition to hold the self absorbed Labour leadership of our Council to account.

Greenwich Labour manifesto gets recycling rate wrong even though it’s full of recycled material!

On a genuine note, v pleased five years of lobbying, campaigning and questioning on neighbourhood policing in Eltham have led to Labour making a borough wide manifesto commitment https://twitter.com/853london/status/1517490876112592896

The Labour manifesto in Greenwich claims the council has increased recycling rates. It hasn’t - rates have been falling for the past few years #greenwich22

Really interesting piece from @GarethBaconMP here. We need to be radical if we are going to make any progress across London.

Just as the Conservatives aspire to be a true unionist national party with candidates standing in every corner of our country, so we should aim to win our capital.

It can and will be a blue city again — but only if we reform and fight back.

Thought losing my seat on the Council would end evening meetings, but spent first Monday after the elections at #Eltham United Charities Trustees meeting. Wonderful to be able to support such a great charity but work still to do on lifestyle change.

As we approach the Council elections I'm going to close down the Greenwich Council Review Quiz. I'm pleased some people enjoyed it and my apologies to @DanLThorpe for the mickey-taking. I thought I should share some of the more interesting results though. https://take.quiz-maker.com/QB241DU1G

Although according to the Metropolitan Police themselves we have the highest number of police officers ever. One to think about I think as we now won't have enough police stations like #Eltham to put them in. https://news.met.police.uk/news/met-hits-highest-ever-number-of-police-officers-as-commissioner-marks-her-last-day-at-hendon-445855

Very touched by all the kind messages from residents & colleagues of all political hues over the last 24hrs. Politics can be brutal but 99.9% of people you meet are in it for the right reasons.

Slowly remembering what normal people do with their time, but some habits die hard..

Congratulations to @Peircey99 & @CllrLindaBird on their victory. Obviously bitterly disappointed, but it has been an honour to represent the area I grew up in over the last 5.5 years & I couldn’t have picked a better colleague, mentor or friend to do it with than @Spencer_Drury
